In what seems to be a direct response to the BMW M3 Sedan pricing in the US, this is going to be a fierce competition in the coming years, Mercedes Benz has the priced the C63 AMG at.....

Shit. You American's are so lucky. Here in Europe it retails for like 67 000 euro, don't understand why MB are selling it so cheap on the other side of the Atlantic. Just for comparison the S5 starts at $50,500 in the US, so the M3 sedan and C63 are practically a steal! Here the gap between the S5 and C63 is like 16k, significantly bigger. I wonder how Audi is going to deal with that one.

In euro $50k is not a lot of money and is like the_artist said, half of what a C63 cost in Europe. Transatlantic import business anyone???

man i looked it up now..to have it registered and shipped to sweden..including making it so called swedish ( changing the speedo n shit)
it will cost you 500 K kr
thats still about 150 K short of the starting price here in sweden...

I think MB means business with the C63 AMG, it has been hailed as the best AMG ever, and they are definitely going for the kill.
I somehow believe that the pricing will have impact on the M3 sales- we have to wait and see on that one.
Most people here in the US are sold on HP and Torque so I won't be surprised if people start rationalizing along the Price/HP to justify the C63 over the M3.
If I can recall, the C55 AMG was more expensive than the E46 M3.

So M3 and C63 with good price and IS-F and RS4 with expensive prices in the states. Hopefully next RS4 will be cheaper than current RS4 for you americans.


chonkoa, dont you have a M3 on order? if so are you changing to a C63?

One interesting note- the C63 AMG cost less than the C55 AMG.
The C55 AMG had a base price of $54,620 whilst the C63 AMG is starting at $53,800.

I have decided to withdraw from the list. I am seriously contemplating the F10 550i now. My reasons for wanting the M3 are purely emotional and the F10 are purely practical.
So I am going to wait untill next year to see what the F10 will look like before deciding between the M3 and the F10.

Damn, almost looks like MB and BMW are trying to price Lexus out of the market. I can't think of one good reason to get the IS-F over C63 if an automatic 4 door sports sedan is what you are looking for.

PC Valkyrie`says he want a M3 but I wonder if he is still sure about that now when C63 has such "low" price. This must be very tempting for him

You can say that again. It will be interesting to see what the Lexus extremists at Autolies have to say about this. MB and BMW have given Lexus a real uppercut this time. The IS-F is going to be nothing but an epic fail, there is nothing in this world which would make me buy it instead of a C63 or M3. It's driving dynamics are generic, design is somewhat a mess and it lacks any for of racing heritage. How do you say "epic failure" in Japanese?

haha......don't know yet what the C63 will sell for in Canada yet. I do know that the E90 M3 is cheaper than the previous E46 M3 here in Canada.

In Canada, the C55 was cheaper than the E46 M3. So there may be a chance the C63 will be cheaper than the E90 M3 in Canada too....

But regardless, I've decided to keep my C55 for a while because it does everything so well for me and it has been trouble free. What I'm thinking about eventually is to get a smaller (hopefully lighter) car that I won't mind abusing on a track. I was seriously considering the Evo X, but it is priced very "uncompetitvely" here in Canada, with the MR model selling for close to $50K. Don't like the STi.

But the 135i seems to be an excellent deal, as it is "only" $41K in Canada.....maybe in the next 1-2 years......

Im a little mad at the moment on two counts.

1. C63 in US 54kusd = £27k in uk £51k 24k more ***!!! i could by 2 in america for the same money!!!!

2. Another car car i have deposit on Alpina B3 had a phone call from Sytners today the price has gone uo by £3250 (7%) with immediate effect. order cancelled and deposit returned.

A £3250 increase leaves a big hole in the pocket and is not worth forking out for a tuned bimmer.

True but to get relatively equal equipment the M3 needs many options that bring its price up to about the same as the RS4, not sure about the C63 though...

Great news, now we gotta see where the options put it. The M3 has a good deal of options as will the C63, but for those that don't want all the extra stuff, this low base price is a good thing.

If you think that's cheap now, just wait until the time-honored 'MB depreciation' takes effect. That car will be worth like thirty dollars in 2-3 year's time.

Yupp. AMG cars tend to depreciate heavily after 2-3. A used one will end up costing less than a new C350.

I wonder what we would have been paying for an M car if there were no competition out there.

Even though there is a competition, not everyone can afford them. So for me, a a tough competition wont help much

It can`t be real! I was expecting the C63 to be in the mid-60s. To see this is just a shock! I think thay will change that figure. I still can`t believe that.
