After reading the report I have to say that the Veyron is the new king. That car is a an amazing machine, VAG has really done a great job. This car makes me forget about the Murceilago, CGT and SLR. What I'm wait for now is for the car to break record lap time around the ring.

I have a hard time seeing that happen since it weigh a lot and I also have a feeling that Veyron isnt trackoritented like Zonda F and CGT.
CCR only manage 7.34 min (but will try again when it gets warmer) and I belive CCR is more trackorinted than Veyron. Source Sportauto.

That that is ture the car is kind of a high performance GT and the weight can become a problem in the bends. Still the car does seen to have better grip and handling than the average car and combined with all the power the car will be able to push through the ring pretty quickly.

Wow man gotta give it up to VAG.. what a advanced machine.. superb.. but some worrying things.. will all these cooling and electric systems be reliable.. they seem a bit compromised and rushed.. ohh and it really really sucks that you cant get it in one tone.. ohh and it should have a life warranty..at that price

Yeah its pretty wierd that you have to choose a too tone. You can probably go around that by choosing black and then choosing a little less darker black.

Absolutely! And especially Pagani... With all due respect to Zonda, this is the number one supercar in the world and it cannot be beaten by any other supercar!

OK, people, before you start this greatest car ever thing, witch is true,you should also realise that it's also probably the biggest waste of money in the automotive world. And give VW AG curent conditions, I can't feel that those money could have been put to better use. Just look how insignificant VW has becomed in the USA, just one example.
After you secure the company's future you build something like the Veyron.

When I read the article, all I could think was how much marques like Audi and Lambo are going to benifit from the Veyron.
Techniques like a 7-speed DSG really evolve in those cars later on.

Yeah Vag has learnt a lot from the Veyron and much of it's technology will be seen the up coming sportcars from the VAG family.

Sure, in a straight line the Veyron is insane but it's just too heavy for the track with a horrendously high curb weight of 2+ tons. Pagani Zonda is going to be a better car for the track or at least i would rather drive it on the track.

I'm pretty sure you're wrong on that one. DSG uses two clutches to shift, when one dissengages, the other engages the next gear. There is no shift time and power is continuously fed through to the wheels, something only CVS can also claim.

Yes i admit speed and acceleration.. its better.. but call me when it beats it around the ring.. ohh and could anyone of you honestly say that you wouldnt insted take those 1million euros... and buy a zonda ( or cgt or slr or whatever) and a bunch of ass spanking MB´s (audis or bimmers) ??

Yeah, but it didn't take Pagani over five years to design the Zonda or the budget of a small country.
Wishful thinking, but it would be nice if the Chrysler supercar project would have been brought back to life. It would have put a smirk on my face to see all that development work VAG has put into that money pit go to waste because of a Chrysler.

We just had the confirmation of the record lap time set by a "factory-standard" Pagani Zonda F on the legendary Nurburging track. A super-test set-up by the famous German magazine SportAuto has established that on the total of all parameters, the un-modified Zonda F got 70 points out of 70... The maximum ever achieved.

I've been under the assumption that DSG was faster than even SMG III as well. Any references? I find it hard to believe that the dual clutch system is slower than a single clutch sequential… although my BMW fanboy instinct hopes otherwise.
