Re: BMW super-sports car to get twin-turbo V10

Sorry but for now BMW's strategy for this Super-sports car is actually a Lightweight roadster badged Z8 and Z10 - Not a super car in the way you are thinking but more of an SL challenger with folding hardtop. Although BMW would only do such a car if it incorporates "Efficient Dynamics" technology and becomes a stand alone product - Image is not a prerequisite.

The Z8 and Z10's identified by the engine capacity will be stand alone and sit alongside the production CS ( which might be given a name instead of a number) Stranger things have happened but it is under discussion.
And we do like our discussions.
These Z-Roadsters will stand alongside The production CS ,F02 7er and BMW's plans for a super luxury shooting brake (Progressive Activity Coupe) as the bridge to Rolls-Royce.

Yeah, I've heard that info too. Guys in marketing department are playing with an idea to give a name (instead of a number) to the cars at the very beginning & the end of BMW model line ("0er" & "8er").

So, the "0er" may be called BMW Isetta (that would terminate the need for a 4th brand), while the "8er" (CS Concept - 4dr GT) may also get a name to balance the naming system. A frontrunner: BMW Triumph.

But that's just an idea. Most probably the Isetta will be an independant 4th brand, while 4dr GT will get 8-series badge.

On the other hand, BMW should really go ahead and accuire Lotus + Tesla. That would produce great synergies to BMW I think...

Re: BMW super-sports car to get twin-turbo V10

You are talking about lost of new models that BMW is going to produce, and for me, as a user and not an insider seems very extrange to see so BMWs on sale.

First of all, Z8 anf Z10? thatīs too too much Z4 is showing its face this fall and with another Z model the line will be full i think, so the most logical think will be produciong a Z8 (following the tradition of one letter ONE numer).

The F02 being a step between BMW and RR seems acurate, but a luxurious PAC?? And how mane 4x4 then?, X1 (not necessary with X3), X5, X6, and the luxurious one?. That seems crazy.

And then is the production CS. Seeing the 7erīs shots in Melborne itīs like it has a 4 dr coupe influences, and seems the 5er will have them too, copeting with E Class and CLS, wich is fine. Having this, why create a new super car, higher than 7er, and stop with the philosophy of being the 7er the highest BMW product on market?.

I think all theese ideas of a houndred new models are only speculations that BMW push us to talk about at forums, and reading our interest on their future models, they make an idea about if they will work or not.

Think we will see a new Z8 based on the Cs Concept and a more luxurious F02, having a F01 and a F10 with 4 dr copue style.
