| Thanks Mave for posting these photos. The front end chop looks very nice. Not too many lines, not everything being parallel, and a sleek aggressive expression. I hope the next A8 closely resembles this chop. On the other hand, I'm hoping reality doesn't match with this chop when it comes to that droopy booty. The expression reminds me of a sad and lonely puppy. I hope Audi brings a new fresh look to the rear with the upcoming A8.

| Audi is the Apple of the automotive industry , they have found a design language that actually works and leave design expirements for other companies that can't do the same...

| Looks like a giant A4 if that is correct. Oh well. M

| Scaled down wind tunnel tests must have been easy for this car, rather than shrinking the A8 you simply use an A4. Same sausage, different length. |

| The proportions in that 'chop look off, because it looks like a A4 that was hit by a growth ray. If we take this literally as 1:1 those head and foglights would be massive. If the detailing is accurate though, I don't really see anything wrong. I rather see the A8 remain "restrained sophistication" than "dynamic aggressive" though. The 7er fills the aggressive niche just fine*–*the Audi stands alone as the understated choice in this segment. It may be that Audi, seeking further penetration into the US market, will go for a more high-profile and aggressively styled A8. Most Americans really don't get the concept of a premium sedan that is deliberately understated, and wouldn't know an A8 if it ran them over.

| The front looks too nice, not aggressive enough for my taste, but from the front door onwards, it does look good. The rear is a little to A5 sportback is for me.

| Could not agree with you more - albeit a much improved A4 design :-) but is that not the point. I think the A8 will have huge road presence, much more than the A4 as it should as the top of the range model. I was really surprised to to pull up next to a F01 in my E90 to see other than the 7 series huge nostril grill lights it was basically a supersized E90 with very subtle design cue changes. I got the same impression when I saw a S class pass a C class on the freeway a few days later. Seems to be a trend with Audi/BMW/MB in the current generation of cars, the previous generation of all three brands for their core three models did quite well in terms of design differentiation whilst maintaining brand identity. In this generation they all have the same corporate silhouette with minor design tweaks to differentiate along side size - same sausage different length. Dare I mention Lexus, but they have differentiated quite well in the current generation of core IS/GS/LS, pity the designs are still poor and the cars themselves are stale overall and the ES is a rebadged Camry.

| From my "BMW" point of view...I beleive the A8 will be a elegant machine worthy of it's name. The final product remains to be seen, though it does not look as agressive nor sporty as the current A8. I personally do not think that styling wise the F01 7er has anything to fear - where dynamics and interior/cabin innovation comes into play...well that also remains a mystery...and I think he A8 will have a few new tricks and nice innovation up it's sleeve. Don't get me wrong...I want the German big 3 to ALWAYS be better that say a Jag...if you know what I mean....And I must say that the F01 is one hell of a machine! Within the 'new' VW Group the one car that really poses a 'thread' IMO nowadays is the Panamera....for both the 7er, S-class and A8, I do not see the new Jag nor Lexus as real - worrying competition.

| The side line of the chop looks verymuch like the line on the f01 7er just the door handles are not integratet in the line. |

| Actually from the angle of those pictures I would have to agree with you, however from a side profile, the GS is substantially different from both the IS and LS which are the two that would indeed fit the same sausage different size adage.

| It's very nice looking, but still too much A4 and A5 in there even though it's a chop. |

| Am I the only one who see that these old renderings looks same as the photographed prototypes? A4 renderings are fine, but if you look at these images, do you really think, that these renderings are fake? I think, that is from 95 percent the same, including instruments! |
