Exactly that, thanks JM. As far as I'm concerned, FWD in a large saloon detracts from the luxury / character of the vehicle and can only be intepreted as a concession with regard to lowering costs. Long, heavy vehicles are just more special when they're rear-wheel drive - it's just not classy to have FWD in a luxury saloon. Front wheel spin is deathly uncool.

Actually the difference to produce a FWD and a RWD one is very small. I had read that is less than 300 euro to the final price of a car. The reason Audi continues with FWD cars is mainly that DKW (a part of Auto Union) was one of the pioneers in FWD cars when FWD was considered a new breakthrough in vehicle technology. There is no reason for Audi to change to RWD since they already have AWD which is one step ahead. FWD can be kept for cheaper and less powerful versions of their models.

thats 655K swedish.. i think its allright.. concidering that the RS4 is like over 700K here..

That doesn't sound so expensive, makes the 550i and E500 look expensive!

It's £48k, while the RS4 is about £50k so it's a bit cheaper!

Very nice car indeed. I like the S4 and RS4 so much more though.

Of course the S4 is the A4 body and it is not the bigger and fatter A6 body.
