2.0T for U.S. A5's

While at the dealer today I sat down with the salesman to chit chat about the TT as well as the A5. He was looking up some info on the Audiaccess.com dealer portal where he checked to see what was in the system for incoming cars for the new model year. Low and behold, kid you not, were both "A5 2.0T 6 SPD QUATTRO", and "A5 2.0T QUATTRO AUTOMATIC". I was flabbergast, as there has yet to be any official mention of either, let alone the 2.0T engine (from what I've heard and read thus far at least?). Apparently it's so. There's no date for either, but if I learn more I will share.

The engine options here in Europe will start from the new 1.8 TFSI (FWD model).

I don't quite understand the necessity to have two turbo engines so close in spec. 1.8 vs 2.0! Shouldn't turbo engines be able to tuned for different purposes?

The newer 1.8T won't replace 2.0T, right?
