What's with Audi and all these sketches??? Just look at the sketch and the real car. They are worlds apar with absolutley nothing incommon besides the single frame grill.

It looks great even in white. With the soft top it should also be very stylish unlike some of the hard top cabrios where the roof looks like it was glued on the rest of the car.

Also hard tops take up significantly more room that a soft top and they are much heavier which increases the overall weight of the car leading to increased fuel consumption and decreased performance.

Will the A5 ever be available with a 2.0TDI? I see lots of the BMW 3 Series coupes in the UK in 2.0 diesel form and can't but think Audi is losing out on a big market share in comparison. Why haven't they released the A5 in 2.0TDI form. Is Audi readying a new 2.0TDI to compete with BMW's 204bhp version and Mercs 2.2ltr 205bhp but with rediculous amount of torque?

Audi are meant to be regarded as one of the diesel pioneers and world leaders ion diesel technology but German rivals seem to be ahead in some respects with diesel.

The A5 2.7 TDI is available but how old is this engine now and many want a car that is not too high in the tax bracket (emissions).

It will probably happen at some point, as Audi usually end up offering their models with as many engine combinations as possible. The thing with coupés is that the smaller engined models are produced later as to keep the car more exclusive when it first gets released. That's why here in the UK the S5 and 3.0TDI were the only ones you could order for the first six months or so. Now you have 2.7TDI, 3.2 V6 FSI and 1.8TFSI (latterly 2.0TFSI).

I understand that the 2.0TDI is already available to order in Ireland and after reading through several threads on the a5oc forums it would appear that the UK was scheduled to follow sometime in September, but this has evidently been delayed owing to priority having been given to TT TDI engine production.

The 2.7TDI engine has recently been revised resulting in reduced emissions.
