Wow, looks really nice. Modest, but much improved over the old. I especially like the longer hood and the more balanced proportions that follow.

wow im not digging this at all..
i was planing to say.. wow the rear is best in class..cuase both the 3er and C class have weak rears.. but damn..this is not better.. its like them..
on top of that the rest of the car is not up to par with the competition..
it looks old..
NOTE THIS.. a car does not turn modern with some fancy headlights..it takes more..

as i see it now..this car will NEVER make a 6year life cycle..and there will never be a RS4 based on this.. so im expecting the REAL new audi A4 in 3 years time..when this will get FL´ed..
Belive me it will be a huge FL..like the B7..
And who knows..maybe thats audis strategey...

Ok, I would be lying to say that I am not disappointed- I wanted something a little more radical. However, I still like it. I prefer the new interior, looks really smart. I know its modern design to leave out the rubbing/portection strips, but I prefer cars to have them. I feel it looks a little too plain without them. I hope the S model has the big chunky ones like on the current model.

I really think you are judging way too soon. With the A5 and S5 75% of the members on this board were disappointed when it first came out, afterward they grew on it, maybe this will happen with the B8 A4...frankly, i always think the official photos of audis make them look bad.

Now that I read everything in this thread I can say what I think...

The first red photo look bland and boring...And I agreed with everybody that said it's not good. I had a feeling that I expected much more. Then I saw other photos, and I changed opinion. I like it, looks fresh and powerful but again I have feeling it's not a new car. I think it'll grow on me as time passes.

BTW, A4 B7 is very nice and elegant car, especiall with S-Line package.

Very possible. The A5 is a little bit different since it look very different from the A4 cabrio. The A5 brought new Audi elements to the table like the interior, rear lights, wavy character lines and a new front. The new A4 feels less new.

Although I don't praise it I know that I will like it. It's by no means an ugly car, it is attractive but could be even more than that. We all have seen the new TT, A8 and R8, Audi is capable of designing striking cars.
Still swallowing all the disappointment though. Now I hope that we'll see the new S4 in a few days

Major facelift with ctrl+v A5 interior; Fy, Audi, FY! You could have done way, waaaay better than that! I've had high expectations for this car and honestly, i really, really wanted it to look better than current one, but what i see from the pics, gives me a feeling of facelift only and nothing else.

I'll still wait to see this car in flesh, though... For the moment 7/10 from me... It's ok afaic, but who cares?

Just like the B7 did. Actually how much did the B7 last? Two years? I doubt that the B8 will last more..

I am thinking of the same thing.. But i can't see the point of this strategy.. What's the point of facelifting the car every 2-3 years and saying it's an all new car? I don't understand it.. Audi fans?

I sort of don't understand. Everyone seems to LOVE the A5 and thought it looked Fresh. However, now this A4, which is basically an A5 with 4 doors is seeming to get a cold reaction. Many of you guys are saying it's just a face-lift. I see a totally different car. Also, many changes are done on the inside...such as better weight distribution. Remember, it's a totally different chassis.

I see some likeness between both models from the front, but the side profile and rear are brand new across the board.

You know that? Maybe Audi is introducing a new system for refreshing the A4. Instead of a gigantic refresh every 6 yeah they partially alter the car every third year instead.

It doesn't have the same wavy character lines as the A5 neither does it have the same front. The front is very important.

Are you talking about the swoop at the end? I already noticed that at first glance. I think that swoop makes it more dynamic than the A5's head lights even though I like the A5's lights than the B7 A4's.
