After all this is free publicity too. The car will be out in a month from now so every little info will be out soon anyway.

Or he just happened to see the car. They are very close to revealing this car, I'm sure they're getting sloppy now.....There are a lot of people who are now becoming involved in the new 7er (magazine printing companies and stuff), it's quite possible he has leaked pics/info now.


Or: I am under NDA. I tell my friend about some specific things, he goes to his forum and starts talking about what he has heard....who's going to stop him, or know where he got his info?

The launch is really close so the info will be out in less than a month anyway. I don't think they'll go after him for revealing these hot bits of info.

BMW are organizing several internal presentations of a new model before it's launch, presenting new model:

- to VIP guests at some major auto show,
- to main investors at investor related meetings,
- to factory employees (Dingolfing plant in this case),
- to BMW executive, sales & marketing managers from around the world

People who are also exposed to F01:
- marketing people & support stuff who are involved in the promo material making,
- engineers (internal & external) & support stuff,
- logistic & transportation stuff, etc

But mind all of them are under strict NDA!



That's exactly my case.
But be sure BMW are informed what's going on, and intervene if necessary. A got a message from AG once to stop spreading the info immediately, or legal action would be taken against me.
It's also risky to your friend whose job could be at stake, not to mention threatened damages due breaching NDA.

But I'm sure BMW Creative Marketing will try everything to cover this guy since leaking is in BCM interest. Debate = maximum publicity.

So, from tis POV I would like to see him posting further info.

Actually the embargo ends on July 6th, the campaign starts on July 7th.

740i will be the old V8 ? (4,0 306hp or 4,8 367hp?) So no 735i I6 biturbo ?

Twin turbo diesel will take at least 1 year later (engine availability is a problem + 7 series buyers normally happy with 730d)

750 is new engine same as X6 (407 ps)
740 i don't know, wasn't listening at the time
730 same engine but now 245ps

I thought the 3.0 engine, as in the 530i or 130i has 272hp now.

So at launch the most powerful 7 will be 407hp 750i.

most probably the 740 will be the NA version of the new 4.4, there have been spy pics with data sheets inside that insinuated an NA 4.4, i forgot the exact terminology
so we will be getting a TTv8, probably tuned to s slither over 407, say 420hp
a circa 250hp 3.0I6, and a circa 320hp NA4.4
we can assume that sometime over the lifecycle the the TT engines (V8 and V12) will get power boosts, making the 735 viable within the range either as a 4th model slotted between 730 and 740 or as an outright replacement of 730
