| Re: F01 / F02 BMW 7er - Spy Pics & Info - Part III (FEP pics!) Shoulder line is very cool. I thought it would be a little sharper in the front, not as bubbly... Curious about the rear...

| Re: F01 / F02 BMW 7er - Spy Pics & Info - Part III (FEP pics!) Finally. To bad they are disappointing and show less than what I hoped for. I guess we'll have to wait until launch for the supposed eye candy shots. The front bumper looks shady though. |

| Re: F01 / F02 BMW 7er - Spy Pics & Info - Part III (FEP pics!) Finally the FEP. OMG! It's gorgeous. Not as revolutionary as I thought it would be, but so sporty and cool, classy, elegant and old-school Bimmer at the same time. I have a feeling the front end will be wicked. I'm in love so far. Can't wait to see better shots and the interior. Thumbs up, BMW! ![]() |

| Re: F01 / F02 BMW 7er - Spy Pics & Info - Part III (FEP pics!) the camo is still doing a perfekt job, it is irretating the eyes very well - i first thought that this is the previous generation... ...but after looking closer there are very interessting lines in there i have an image attached - trying to follow the lines near the headlines, there was still some interpretation needed |

| Re: F01 / F01 BMW 7er - Spy Pics & Info Part IV (first FEP pics incl.!!!) So, the spring is here, and so is the F01 FEP 7er. Finally. ![]() The new psychedelic camo tape is doing its task exceptionally well. The most important lines & parts are still well hidden. As said before: the car is an evolutionary revolution. Still instantly recognizable as 7er (some design cues transfered from E65 - eg. door cutlines - but evolutionized), yet a completely new car (with many CS-like features - eg. shark-like nose etc). A nice transition - following the latest BMW designs such as X6, 3er coupe & cabrio, 1er coupe & cabrio. Wait till camo drops off - to see E38 spirit is alive again. |

| Re: F01 / F02 BMW 7er - Spy Pics & Info - Part III (FEP pics!) The rear details are infinetely better executed than most of the current bimmers and it was time cause it was clearly one of the weakest points of the current BMW design.

Expect slight yet remarkable revisions. PS: now you can see the feature I promised to be copy-pasted from CS ... It's a Hofmeister's kink "echo" printed into C-pillar metal, of course. ![]() |

| Re: F01 / F01 BMW 7er - Spy Pics & Info Part IV (first FEP pics incl.!!!) I like this angles. Now all I need is Lehman to do his magic and make the camo disappear so that we can see the creases following the shoulder line to the bonnet and the character line as well. ![]() ![]() |

| Re: F01 / F01 BMW 7er - Spy Pics & Info Part IV (first FEP pics incl.!!!) The car is shown here as SWB in Cashmere Silver metallic. Damn I was kind of hoping you would not see it until the launch in July. In which everything has gone according to schedule. Some people got wise to us yesterday which is why we have employed some covert techniques in this operation. Such as having a BMW Development 7er rendevouz with us on the coasts of Cape Town so all they can photograph is a disguised model. Ingenius dont you think? Surprisingly where we have been with this car we have avoided the camera and the amateur perhaps they want to respect BMW's vision or maybe we are just too sneaky. Though I am surprised we could get our shots in Times Square and 5th ave New York without gathering too much attention to us. Also in Australia were we had helicopters chasing the car across two landmark bridges especially at sunset for that senusual feeling of warmth and emotion. So far footage is nothing short of impressive , lots of ariel shots , road shots , landscapes , environment , and plenty of blue skies because of the status of "Efficient Dynamics" which is a headliner in the marketing for the F01 in the luxury class. it will also be visually emotional because this is the big one - before CS this is the flagship and we treat our flagships well. Even here in South Africa we have avoided the glare , even though we probably might have pissed off some photographers with the M3 Cabrio In-Joke titled the Search. After we wrap up in South Africa it's Dubai and then Hong Kong, China, But I have over stuff to evaluate , give approval and set the next task on the long riding road to wrap up before beginning the Z4 in mid summer which will appear in December 2008. Although I have some ideas from Australia and South Africa . |

Oh, there is quite a lot CS features also present on the F01/ F02 (not the broken shoulder line & flat kidneys though, but eg. double Hofmeister kink, side turn signal etc). ![]() Just wait till the camo is gone, and all details are revealed. Yet the car has different proportions than CS which is wider & much lower. But still S-class & A8 look chubby in comparison to F01. Important: mind that boot lid still wears a plastic camo (!!!) - hiding the real shape & lines at the back. | |

| Re: F01 / F01 BMW 7er - Spy Pics & Info Part IV (first FEP pics incl.!!!) Well .. this is it ... I guess am disappointed. After seeing all the previous BMW exciting designs, I think this is the laziest most boring one. Compared to the E65/66 yes it is an improvement but not the kind of improvement I'd expect from BMW. Its something that Audi would do. Thanks god the X6 didn't turn out this way. Now I have a clear idea about my decision. EnI: unless the whole body is a camo, I don't think few tapes here and there would change my mind over this car. It is nice and that's it. Nothing more can be said about this car. Hell MB did a better job with the new S Class. Although those arches were heavily criticized but at least they had the guts to pull the trigger and release the car. The new kink in C-Pillar ? Bigger kidney ? Thats it ? what else can we say is special about this car ? even the roofline/ doors are almost identical to the current car. Am fairly disappointed. I don't think anyone liked the bangle era would like this one also. Plus, people trading their current 7ers to the new one is not that tempting. Regards |

| Re: F01 / F01 BMW 7er - Spy Pics & Info Part IV (first FEP pics incl.!!!) ^ Old story all over again. Remember FEP prototypes of X6? Or even X5? Or even 3er coupe & cabrio (incl M3)? Do you? A lot of people complained about the design ... but when the camo was removed, and people saw the cars in person a vast majority was blown away. It's the same case with F01. Yet I'm bit sick & tired to advocate for this all over again. It's not pure propaganda but real facts. Wait till the camo is removed. Roof line? Yes, it's a typical BMW roof line- so are the door cutlines. Yet this time roof line (F01) is much more coupeish than on E65! PS: check the pics from the shooting in Melbourne - where the side lines can be clearly seen (without tape), and you can see how sharp they are. The car is evolutionary but not as much as you think. Wait till the camo is completely gone. I promised you you won't be disappointed. The car is really instantly recognized as E65 successor yet featuring some very fresh design solutions. It's not just a "FL like redesign". And it was said this new generation would be all about refining the design, not bringing a new revolution. You can't revolutionized the design in every generation. BMW bets on every secend generation as revolutionary one - design wise. |

| Re: F01 / F01 BMW 7er - Spy Pics & Info Part IV (first FEP pics incl.!!!) Just for the record. I didn't really drool all over the 3er coupe and the X5. They are nice yet could've been much better. Still I hear allot of people complaining about the X5 being not much different that its predecessor. Thanks anyways. I ll be waiting for this car, just to see what it brings, but not anxiously as i used to be. One more thing here, am not talking as a fan boy or something, but am talking as a potential buyer. Regards. |
