After filming "inserts" the past week. The automobile has hit the streets tonight.

It's about time. The spring season has just started.

So, spy photographers ... find the Easter egg (the new FEP 7er prototype) ... Where did the Easter bunny (BMW) hide it? Somewhere in Munich?

If only I could get more details, I would go snap some. I got nothing to do this weekend.... Can a brother get a location please? I told my cousin, who does a lot of driving, to be on the lookout for it. He says he sees a lot of camo'ed prototypes around Harlem. He saw the S-Class back in '04 on 125th and Broadway.

Empower, I believe Scott and his team are done with the shooting in the Financial District. It's out on the streets for testing now, I guess.

That's correct. They were supposed to finish today.

Having spent our time in the US. Were we used Manhattan and California. We now head to Cape Town in South Africa for additional shooting. The majority of this shoot is for the additional early press release of the car driving and showing the interior and functions. These are the segments without music. But some footage will be incorporated into the on-line media presentation.

I would say it will be as visual and creative as the X6 campaign with added emotion. The car looks great even after we thoroughly made the bodywork super shiny so we can reflect some buildings off Wall St on the bodywork. Some of the footage is very emotional with plenty of dynamic and ariel shots, although not finished but when complete it will just be "Sheer Driving Pleasure" Cape Town is going to be the icing on the cake especially with the roads behind the city something similar to the 5er LCI footage - here.

I missed it too? I was in the city this weekend, even went as far down to Canal Street too.

Why this car is still in test?, i hope it is because of BMW aim to have no doubt about the new 7er´s fiability.

I have not read on this thread anything about the interior details. Will it be similar to the S Class, having all the elements integrated on the new iDrive except the climatic features, or will it be more like the X5 an X6 interior?. Hoipe it wiil be more like the second and also have the iDrive´s consola smaller, and not like 5er and 7er.

Can someone answer me my doubts please?.

Given how many electronic componentry and gizmos this new Bimmer will have it's normal to test it for so long, they wanna get the reliability part spot on. I just hope we'll see some FEP pics or more leaked uncamoed pics, I can't wait until July to see a glimpse of this new beast.

No, that's when the 1st press pics are supposed to be published.

FEP start deadline in May (January was the early date, May is the deadline) , Press release in July, production start in September, premiere (Paris 2008) in October, in showrooms in very late October / early November.
