Aah yes, the fabled electro-magnetic valves...LOL. Active aero does sound good, but won't those little flaps need motors? Won't that add more weight and consume more energy?

It´s really a different shape from the ones we´ve been seeing in the latest renders. I would like to see the same pic but with the rear lights. Who knows, maybe in the next set of pics.

Oh btw, Can any CM Team members tell us what power figures can we expect if it is a V8 TT or if it is a V10 finally?

PD: If it is a V10, Will it be a TT one?.

my guess: v10 TT or v8 TT (540-560 hp) + electric motor ( 20-30 ps, 150-180 Nm)

after all, if the engine is able to do both - both scenarios need to be tested, i guess.

I hope that it will have fewer hp than Audi RS6 . 580 hp is too much.
nobody needs that much power in the car as m5, rs6, e 63 amg.

But on the other hand, 530hp is also too much power and since 580 or 530hp are both more than you need, then BMW can go ahead and give the car those 580hp.

From what I read somewhere the decision on whether to use the V10 or V8 in the next M5 comes down to the German emission exemption clause being considered in the US. If it goes through, M5 gets V10, if not then it gets V8. Any truth to this?

there's some new pphotos of a F10 550i (?) in testing:

http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=293702

I like how the rear lights are on so you can see the light shapes better.
Looks very much like an extended E90 as some have said.

I still can´t see how the outer part of the rear lights wrapp into the side profile. I think the exterior part of the cluster may end looking like the X5 one.

Something like this??? I think I can see this shape in the tape. It's barely visible but I think that's roughly the line:

Maybe Scott can say if it's remotely close...

Anyways......hype + 1

Sick looking already. E39 and E90 combined with F01 details. The LED backlights look great, and the whole bumper and the exhausts do too!

To me your paint makes perfect sense since it has simetry with the way the front lights end and wrapp into the side profile. Just the same case than the F01 if you take a look.

Btw, klier, you forgot to say how good looks the colur of these latest pics.

Yeah and also from the side view, the F01 barely shows it's backlights either.... Not nearly as much as E65 and E60.
And the color is fabulous. A true BMW blue, like they can do best

No, it's blue i think. Look around the license plate! Could be my display settings, but I see this car as a blue one

It's Sophisto Grey.
The launch car looks like it might be in "Sparkling Bronze" a colour that is unique to the 5er or Orion Silver as seen on the 5er GT similar to the colour used on the Bentley Mulsanne.

We are deciding.

Uggh, please don't use these neutral bronze shaded colors, they absolutely lack any character. Please go with darker colors, the grey we see here is fantastic.

Good eye SKY, I could have sworn it was blue

And is that backlight shape is anything remotely close? That's more important than the color

Dear god whatever you do please not Orion Silver! That color I belive it what really set the Gran Turismo back in the press and public perception by ALOT. Only now that people are seeing the car in silver, black and blue do they start to appreciate the car. I dont want the same effect for the 5 series, we dont need people hating it becuase it was incorrectly framed in the initial photos. Besides the color is very tacky.

+1, go with the dark grey, enough with the light new boring colors already. If you go light, white or ti silver please!

BTW, the latest pictures really add to my feeling that BMW has nailed the F10 design. The front 3/4 view is simply outstanding. I need to see more details of the rear-end before I get too gushy, but man it looks good!

HOLD THE PHONE.... there seem to be 2 different cars shown in those photos. The first car shows a licence plate on the front reading 'M_DJ 2361', and I think that's the dark grey color SCOTT is referring to. The second car has a plate at the rear reading 'M_DJ 2288' and it looks pretty clear to my eyes that it is dark blue in color. Just look at the areas around the licence plate, and around both wheel arches.

EDIT: just look at some of the camo-designs at the edges where they end, it's clear these are 2 different test cars, hence the 2 different colors.

Klier, you have officially been redeemed!

And you guys can count my vote for the petition against using a bronze or light brown color for the initial press photos and unveiling.... this is a dynamic company, this is a dynamic car, don't use a dull and unexciting color... please.
