I have realised that the interior seems to be quite near to the F01 one, hope we see some of the all new tech advantages seen on the 7er on the F10.

Well, it doesnīt matter at all, donīt you think so?. The important part is that the F10 is looking better and better in every video and every pic.

And btw EnI, in worldcarfans they are talking about similarities in the rear with F01. I can only see similarities with the side profile of the car, but the rear, having read you post and Scottīs ones, doesnīt seem to be similar.

Yes - perhaps similar in a way that the clam-shell trunk door are gone (as on F01).

^ Like on E65 7er, E63 6er, W221 S-class, Maybach.

IMO 5er doesn't really have it. 5er only has that clamshell-like cutline for the boot (on the side rather than on top)

Interesting news on the M5s engine. If it gets bumped up to 5.5liters I don`t see the need for turbos considering it`s hi-Rev band.

2010 BMW 5-Series: Clearest Spy Shot Yet

Take away the psychedelic taping on the trunk and the masked tail-lights and you have, if not ‘the’, one of the clearest spy shots of the forthcoming sixth-generation BMW 5-Series as up until now, most of the scooped prototypes were covered in a coat of riveted dummy panels. We reckon that the current 5-Series was one of the most successful iterations of Bangle’s flame-surface styling, and although some might disagree, we find that the E60 manages to stand out from the conservative competition in the luxury mid-sized sedan segment. However that will change with its successor as the next-generation 5er won’t be as radically designed as today’s E60 model.

LOL, it did seem a little weird looking for a F10... but it was late and I was tired, so I didn't really think twice before posting it. Sorry!

Not at all ...

Shoulder line - although similarly shaped & incorporating door handles - runs completely differently: it's not so straights, also positioned a bit lower (it doesn't run above front wheel arch, but ends in it, and continues on the onther side - like on E39 5er).

Even more different is lower character line at the botom of the side doors: it's not straight & linear like on F01, but it curves up to the rear wheel arch - more in Audi style.

The side profile of F10 5er is more wedge-shaped than the profile of F01 7er.

Wait till the camo is removed in FEP phases ...

Iīll like it then, the bad thing is that we are not going to see FEP until late 2009, and until then, the only changes in the car mules we will see are maybe the final tail lights as with F01, but i wouldnīt expect nothing more.

Now after seeing the 7er in official pics and looking at these spy shots of the new 5er, it looks like the interior will be close to a carbon copy of the 7er.

Quite right....and I am happy with that. Very much so....
BTW, this area here is distictively different from the F01...more sporty imo, with that knick:

It also looks like the F10 will have a regular handbrake and not some electronic thing that's in the 7er

I don't know what it is but the handbrake is usually on the driver's side of the center console.
