Yes, it's a PS - I see it now. Check the bumper cut line between headlight cluster & wheel arch - it's a bit different & located lower on the real car.

But it's a da.n close PS. Even I was fooled for a moment. It's an almost 100% correct.

Definitely a fake. The bumper cutline is indeed different as Mii pointed out, and there is no headlight washer system, which I'm sure will be standard on all models because Xenon will be standard on all models.

Plus the fact that this will not be untaped like that at some BMW dealership. It's BMW's most highly guarded secret until the 23rd...

Might be fake, but i'd be happy if the graphics ended up looking like that.

Excellent work Mii for spotting this difference!! Sherlock Holmes would be proud of how you broke the case of the damn-near-real 5er leak!!

Not much to say about the new 5er though. Should be a great looking car inside and out, though I can't help but already feel mostly censortized to its appearances. Nothing overly suprising to look forward to since we know 95.644% of the how the car will look already, but ofcourse the devil is in the detail, and the 2nd round of press pics should be stunning on-location shots!

I still remember the moment when the spy photo of the white E60 5er on location in South Africa was posted here (was GCF back then), and now its successor is days away from being unveiled.

Nice try by whoever did this, but it's clearly a 5er GT PS'ed just by looking at the size of those kidneys.

Just saw the "Leaked" picture it is not real not only because of the artists mistake. But BMW dealers will not receive any info until the weekend before the launch. And again they are under embargo as are the press.

The dealers consequences are far worse if they break embargo. They lose the franchise. In the past year BMW have been digitally encoding their pictures so they know which belongs to where.

What more then? Because this shot was meant to be some secret spy shot, not a leaked official press pic. The source saying it was made at a dealership is a rookie mistake, since it doesn't work like that as you pointed out.
If it weren't for those errors, it could have been some sneaky person making pics with his mobile phone when he wasn't supposed to do that. No digital encoding in those pics....

BTW, sorry to say Scott....but I really hope for a leak before the 23th. I love leaks

Bombastic. This is gonna shit on everything else in the segment

After looking at this, I'm convinced this will be the new hot car of the segment. Mercedes did a great job with the E-Class, build quality, interior design etc, but the outside of it is just too messy. Now is the 5-Series chance to really shine IMO. The W211 E and current 5-Series didn't have mcuh of a contest style wise in my eyes...the W211 looked much better. Now things appear to be on the verge of changing. The M5 is clearly has a turbo engine. If it does have 600hp and M-DCT then look out. I'm now excited about seeing this car. BMW is about to move up one notch on my list if this car hits right. Now its Audi's turn.
