I assume because it was going to be called the 4-Series they wanted great differentiation between the models (not a bad thing IMO - I prefer the front as it is now).

People over here and at CCS who think they have real inside info are close to always wrong.

This time again it seems...nothing @ Geneva WE didn't already know.
The buzz which is being created almost always is wrong.

My dear friend,

BMW is a rationally driven company. When they know too early announcement can hurt current sales, they decide to delay it. So they did with the E92. The decisions what to present openly at the motor shows fall at the last moment. It was the same situation with Geneva motor show. The cars are ready, but not showed.

They showed some upcoming models to BMW Suisse employees, and 2 3er coupes (335i is one of them) are shown at Geneva motor show off stage - in the BMW VIP lounge.

BMW are delaying the E92 announcement & showing due to still surprisingly good sales of E46 coupe (its production ends in May) - especially the diesels where demand still exceeds supply.
They will supposedly show the car in April at Leipzig motor show in the early april, and later in London (July). So, we can expect the press release before AMI Leipzig and Geneva closure: in period March 13 - 31. If it makes to Leipzig. Otherwise in the mid April. All is in the marketing dept. hands.

Also the Z4 Coupe is the reason - he needs all attention from marketing dept. since is a brand new model, and they have to push its promotion as much as possible. Therfore also no concept is shown in Geneva - in manner to direct all spotlight to Z4 coupe. Btw, the German & British Z4 Coupe allocations for 2006 are allready almost all booked up.

the pic I posted, I just cant see anyone thinking it looks ugly even of they are MB, Audi or Seat fan
