Anyone have the EVO magazine article? Can someone please post some scans? It is probably all just rumors but it makes for fun reading.

OK guys, decided I had to come back to post my comments of the M3 concept!

Well, when I first saw the pics on WCF, the first picture I saw was of the front of the car and was thinking, OMG that looks super hot. Looked exactly as I thought it would after seeing all the spy pictures. Although when going through the other pictures, I started doubting I initial thoughts, the back looked way over done (personally I hate tuned car in general) and the mirrors looked far too complex, when they could stay the same as the normal mirrors on the E92, the bulge looked too much, basically the M3 had lost it's menicing stance while still looking looking good parked outside a nice hotel, if you get what I mean. I was really disappointed.

It wasn't till I looked on here and saw the IRL photos, that everything started to make sence, the car looks sensational. I must keep reminding myself that BMW press photos don't always make the best of the car. Plus those videos of the car during launch, well the engine sounds awesome, not quite Ferrari nice but still very very nice!

I can't wait till september when we'll see the true car, not an M3 with some CSL styling clues!!

PS, the topic on if the car would feature leather as standand or not, I know a few people who wouldn't buy the car if it had leather, so I'm sure they would get a few more customers making this decision. Also, correct me if I'm wrong but in very hot countries, doesn't leather crack, seem to remember people in Dubai complaining that their leather dashboards on the M5s where cracking, or would crack but they were standard in those regions sothey didn't have a choice.

So to some up, I'd give this car 9.5 out of 10, can't wait for the real thing to be shown, sure my score will go up a bit then, be the car will be toned down a bit!

That is the concept car's interior.

winding road says they will take a closer look at the engine 22 March. Why does that feel like an eternity?

Are we 100 percent sure that there will be NO SMG ever for this car??

I think it seems more and more likely that the SMG will be replaced with the new transmission. Although I really like the SMG3 system, it's not the easiest one to live with. Let's hope this one is a beast.

^you know man..i really liked the SMG..maybe enthusiasts hated it..but damn it was a wild tranny..
i wish it could return in some way.. or that BMW give us an equally brutal semi automatic gearbox

I'm not sure I like the unpainted carbon fibre on the mirrors or on the roof. I really hope BMW isn't going to get sluty with CF like Audi did with the R8. It's so untasteful.

umm....dude I think you forgot...but the M3 CSL (which came way before the R8) had bare CF on the roof and other places...so HELL YEAH! BMW should definitely bring bare CF in production....LOL

I think carbon fibre details all over the place makes a car ricey, paint the god damn panels. The Zonda is an exception though.

also guys remember th M6 has a CF roof
i personally love the CF roofs, better performance along with looking good, how can you go wrong.

Now, now...either cf is ricey or it's not, there is no exception...not even for a Zonda.

ps...I don't think it's ricey when it's built into a car.

that's a power button, next to the shifter. Could it be that the M3 will have 2 Bhp settings like in the M5?

I think it was really great too, really makes you feel like you are driving a race car. However, it was just too rough for most people. I think if you are willing to learn how to use it in traffic, it wouldn't be that bad, but most people dont.

I hope the new transmission is just as brutal in sport mode, but like an automatic in cruising.

I think it looks good as long as it serves a purpose. CF trim in the car is not my thing. Besides, I think it provides a great contrast if you pick the right color. A white M3 with CF roof would look amazing.

Is it just me or do some of you feel that the bhp setting is pointless?

It's not just you, I happen to agree. I know technically by allowing a regular power mode,
like on the M5, you can save on fuel (emissions ?).. but meh..

It's the Angle of the picture. The chopped picture makes the car look like it's dropped to the ground and that angle gives the car more detail and a dynamic stance.

Finally someone found the pic. It's not that dramatically different, so that's why I don't understand how the chops made you think that the concept is so underwhelming. The hood is definitely different I guess, but we knew what was coming.

I think the difference between the 2 is that the middle part of the air scoop is larger in the concept than the chop.
